TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES 

The following descriptions and illustrations are an attempt to explain some of the elements of the Teams Challenge Course. Our basic philosophy of these team building activities is to develop cooperation, communication and trust within the group of individuals. This involves exploring individual potential, understanding effective group problem solving behavior and improving organizational effectiveness.

1) SPIDER'S WEB:

OBJECTIVE: For the group to move all of its members from one side of the web to the other.
RULES: Each opening in the web can be used only one time. the web and its supports cannot be touched by anyone or tne wholQ 9roups starts over. Persons cannot be passed over or under the web.
2) ALL ABOARD:
OBJECTIVE: For the group to get up on a 2' x 2' platform for a specified period of time 
RULES: No feet may be touching the ground. Once under way, if one person steps off the platform, the whole group most start over.
3) NITRO CROSSING
The Nitro Crossing Team ChallengeOBJECTIVE: The entire group must safely cross the poison peanut butter pit with a bucket of nitro.( not spillinq a drop) 
RULES: Each participant must swing across without "touching" the pit. Participants may use only themselves and their own personal resources. If anyone touches the pit, the whole qroup starts over. No nitro can be spilled. No jumping. 
4) TRAFFIC JAM: 
OBJECTIVE: To have two groups of at least four members each, exchange places on a line of squares that has one more place than the number of member in both groups. All members to the left of the center must end up on the right and vice versa. 
RULES: To begin, both groups face the middle unoccupied square. Using the following moves, the two qroups attempt to exchange places; 
A) A member may move into an empty space in front of him. 
B) A member may move aro~d a member from the other group into an empty space. 
Illegal Moves include: Moving backwards; Moving around a member facing the same way; moves which involve two members moving at the same time.
5) BLIND POLYGON: 
OBJECTIVE: Group is blindfolded in open area. Rope is stretched out in a straight line about 20 feet from the group. The group is to form a PERFECT SQUARE using the full lenqth of the rope. 
RULES: Everyone must be touching the rope during the activity.
6) NUCLEAR WASTE
OBJECTIVE: Group is use assigned tool to transport waste from the factory to the dumping site. 
RULES: All members cannot be closer to the waste then the very end of the tool. If waste is dumped anywhere than the approved site, all start over.
